Case Study

Coconuts Villa

A vacation rental in the US Virgin Islands needed a site that made travelers feel like they were already there.

Sell the Experience First

For a vacation rental, the website isn't just informational — it's the first impression of the experience itself. The site leads with beautiful property photography and highlights everything a traveler wants to know before booking: the space, the location, the amenities, and the atmosphere.

A Live Webcam, Right on the Page

One of the site's most engaging features is a live webcam showing real-time footage from the property. For someone considering a trip to St. John, seeing the view live is a remarkably effective way to seal the deal.

One Page, on Purpose

The single-page format was a deliberate choice — smooth scrolling navigation keeps visitors moving naturally from property details to availability to booking without losing momentum. Everything a traveler needs is right there, in the right order.

A Long-Term Client, Two Web Properties

This is one of two websites I've built for the same client. The companion site, Weather.vi, is a favorite resource among St. John residents and visitors alike — pulling together local weather data and linking back to Coconuts Villa. Both are single-page sites, both built with the same care and attention to the island community they serve.

Built-In Discovery Paths

Coconuts Villa is listed on VRBO, which links directly back to the site. Combined with the cross-link from Weather.vi, the property benefits from multiple inbound paths — including a reference from a high-authority third-party platform — all working together to bring in the right visitors at the right time.
